After Suzuki announced its bike line up for 2011, the new Suzuki Hayabusa definitely grabs the spot light.
The ultimate bike revealed will adorn itself in two colors – Pearl Mirage White with gold trim and Pearl Nebular Black with red trim. The bike will be powered with a 1340cc, liquid-cooled, 4 cylinder engine coupled with an optimized 6 speed transmission. The lightweight aluminum alloy pistons with a compression ration 12:5:1 are used to maximize performance. The coating is Hard, smooth chrome- mitride Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) with oil control rings on each piston to reduce friction and improve cylinder sealing. The engine is fed via Suzuki’s Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system with dual 12- hole, fine- spray injectors per cylinder and ram air intake with large volume airbox.
The bike weighs about 260 kg, the bike stands strongly on 3-spoke cast aluminum alloy wheels with radial tyres – 120/70ZR17M/C in the front and 190/50ZR17M/C at the rear. Front brake allows for smaller 310mm rotors coupled with radial- mount calipers resulting in reduced unsprung weight and improved handling. A single piston rear brake caliper works in conduction with a 260mm rear brake disc.
Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) serves as back- torque limiting system for smooth downshifts and also contributes to a light clutch pull. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) provides the rider to select different engine settings depending on the road conditions and rider preference. The reduce carbon emission, the bike uses Suzuki Pulsed- secondary Air- injection system (PAIR) which when ignited unburned hydrocarbons.
The instrument cluster features four analog meters for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and water temperature with an S-DMS mode indicator, gear position indicator and adjustable engine-rpm indicator. The headlight is vertically stacked with increased intensity and the LED taillights will come with clear inner lens and red outer lens.
